Properly understanding light signals

Your farm's displays inform you about cable connection, charging status, and battery level.

All Frequent Questions

5x green flash

When the USB-C cable is plugged in, the Farm flashes green five times. This means the cable has been recognized correctly.

Red Glow

After connecting, the indicator light glows red as long as the battery is charging. When the battery is fully charged, the light automatically turns off. Red without a connected cable means: The battery level is below 20%.

No reaction

If the Farm does not react at all when plugged in, the battery is probably deeply discharged. Leave it charging for a full 12 hours.

Automatically with the rhythm of the day.

If the USB-C cable is plugged in and the farm is switched on, the grow light usually remains active. It may only switch off automatically in very strong sunlight.

12 hours of light

After approximately 30 minutes, the farm checks whether it is light or dark. If it detects daylight, it runs for 12 hours, and in summer, with sufficient brightness, for up to 3 additional hours.

6 hours rest

After that, the farm remains switched off for 6 hours – even with streetlights or room lighting present. Then the rhythm starts over.

Battery & Daily Use

The most important tips for a stable day/night rhythm and uniform growth.

What happens in the first 1–2 days?

For the first one to two days, the grow light can be on continuously while the system adjusts to your lighting conditions. This is normal.

Tip: Briefly switch the Farm off and on again in the morning. This will immediately set it to the correct day/night rhythm.

Does the Farm need to be permanently connected to the charging cable?

No, but it's worth it. The farm runs on solar panels and a battery. In a very bright window, this is often sufficient in summer. However, in winter or in low light, the spirulina grows slower.

For harvests that are as consistent as possible, we recommend leaving the USB-C cable connected. The grow light will then automatically support growth. For sustainability reasons, a USB-C cable is not included in the delivery.
