THE RESTART

Four steps. A new cycle.

The restart is particularly easy: You use a small portion of your previous harvest directly as a new starter culture.

Back to Harvest

Prepare grow-glass

Take the freshly rinsed grow jar. It should be clean and free of residues.

Fill with nutrient salt

Add 45 g of nutrient salt to the jar. This is approximately two heaped spoons.

Refill water

Pour in approximately 2.2 L of lukewarm tap water and stir once. The nutrient salt does not need to dissolve completely.

Apply own culture

Add your saved 250–500 ml Spirulina culture. The total amount should be approximately 2.7 L – no more.

FRESH START

New vitality every three months.

Your farm operates as a closed system and does not require a new culture after each harvest. However, for continuous strong growth and a lower risk of contamination, we recommend a fresh, lab-tested starter culture every three months.

Strong & Stable

A fresh culture regularly brings your farm back to peak performance.

Mild & nutrient-rich

Regular fresh starts support flavor, vitality, and reliable yields.

FURTHER QUESTIONS

Questions about the restart

Everything for the sustainable cycle of your farm and the regular renewal of cultivation.

Do I have to keep buying new spirulina cultures?

Technically no. With each harvest, you save about 250–500 ml of your grown culture and use it as a starter for the next batch, along with fresh water and nutrient salt.

Over time, however, an algae culture naturally loses vitality and the risk of unwanted contamination increases. For the best quality, we therefore recommend a fresh restart every three months with a new, laboratory-tested starter culture.
